Is login rule deprecated? If, Yes then what is the alternative?

We are using a login rule for one of our application. The work of login rule is to redirect the user to the third party for authentication and after successful authentication, the user is redirected back to ServiceNow with a code which is used to decide the catalog/category user entitlement based on that code. But as the login rule is deprecated so is there any alternative to login rule? And Is there any other way to later refresh the user entitlement or criteria which are set when a user logins?
