Hi,
I was wondering is there a role that can give read only access to all the tables in ServiceNow. I was thinking snc_read_only but the documentation says it gives read only access to tables the user already had access to and not every table, so is there such a role?
thanks

Agree there is no speicifc role but here is a soluion
The most usual way to do this is by giving one 'admin' access along with the 'snc_read_only' role. This will give one a universal read-only access also referred to as 'Auditor Access'.

If I grant ‘admin’ and ‘snc_read_only’ - the user will have all the CRUD operations because mostly ACL are admin override and I am looking for read only access
also the post you shared, has no solution accepted, so the question remains.
thanks.

Agreed. This post doesn't have an accepted solution, but the reply came from experts. Since ServiceNow doesn’t have a specific role to make all tables read-only for Admin + SNC Read-Only, try it in a PDI first. If everything works fine, implement it in the client instance. Otherwise, log a ServiceNow support case and share your feedback.

Hello @snow_beginner
Apart from admin there is no role that gives read access to all the tables. That would also be a security breach.
Even for admins there is another elevated role - "security_admin" to deal with ACL records and other cross scope access records.
Kindly mark my answer as helpful and accept solution if it helped you in anyway. This will help me be recognized for the efforts and also move this questions from unsolved to solved bucket.
