Hi Everyone,

I created a new application and was extend to task table.

I created a table with the generic ACL.

I noticed that after granting a read-only role to a use. The Work notes and Additional Comments didn't show while others are okay.

is there a special ACL for those to fields?

Many thanks

Yes, there will be ACL which is restricting the write access on those fields. As it is journal field, the ACL will be a write ACL.

You can see that on selecting Debug Security rules and open the form.

Using Access Control Rules - ServiceNow Wiki

Below the screen you will see exactly which ACL is restricting the write access.

Mark if it is helpful or correct, feedback is appreciated

Hi Srikanth,

Can I use my admin account and view the ACL restricting the 2 fields after clicking the Debug Security Rules?

Yes, admin role will work perfectly fine. To edit the ACL, you will be needing security_admin role.

In the right navigation, please select Debug Security rules

Open the form by impersonating the user

In that way the ACL will be shown which is restricting the visibility for the user

T_T i still dont get it why it is not visible.

It seems as per debug rule I already meet the requirements but still wont see the 2 fields.
