Issue with Catalog tasks not being created when Catalog Item is requested by end user in portal.

Hello all,

I am facing an issue with Flow Designer not creating Catalog tasks when End User raises a request from portal. It works perfectly fine for when it is ITIL user. I tried all the solutions in Community regarding the same issue and still it is not working.

I have tried changing to run as System User and also User who initiates sessions and assigning role required for creating catalog task, and still face the same issue.

In flow context, following error appears: The requested flow operation was prohibited by security rules.

I have tried all of these:

Is there any other thing I could be missing?

Appreciate any help on this.

Regards,

Ehab

There was an unknown issue with the flow I created earlier even with property set to run as System User. So I created another same flow with Property: run as System User and it worked.

Hi,

Did you check the flow context after changed the run as to system user??,

Basically its a permission issue, Portal users don't have access to create catalog task.

Verify run as , Save the flow and check or Provide flow context screenshot if its ok for you.

Hi,

Yes, I tried run as System User and this is what shows up in Flow Context: The requested flow operation was prohibited by security rules.

PFA screenshot below.

Hi,

Please share the full screenshot to see run as user and also if this works for ITIL user try run as "User who initiates session" and add ITIL and catalog admin roles in Run with roles

You can also try this (Creating new ACL): https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0870023
