What exactly does the versioning not do, what you want it to do?
Everything can be accomplished by scripting, but it's not always the right way to do it 😉

Yep its OOB, i have modified script but the current and previous articles are also going to retired state unable to stop workflow.
The OOB script is KBVersioning i think so. its script include if possible please check and let me know where and how to fix this.
