KB articles not searchable on Service Portal search boxes

I am not able to find KB articles from Service Portal home page search box. KB articles have proper 'valid to' dates and proper permissions to be viewed but not showing up in search results on the portal.

I had this same issue. Found that we were using AI Search. Went to this table "

ais_search_profile" found the search profile for my portal. Then in the related links in the "search sources" tab, there were condition on what articles could appear in the portal. Make sure the knowledge base your searching for in the portal is part of the condition.
