There's no maximum size imposed by the system for a KB article and its contents.   The only limitation anywhere in this respect is 1GB for a given attachment.

Any limitations would really be the practical limitations of working with large files.   For example, even though you could upload a file 1GB in size, the user experience working with that would be terrible.   The ServiceNow KB is not intended or designed to be a file repository however, large files and documents are better stored somewhere else and linked to from ServiceNow.

There is no limit set OOB.

Obviously, you'd have to worry about your browser crashing, and since all the attachment artifacts are stored in the SN Database, you'll want to be careful, but if you stick to less than 20 MB per artifact, you should be fine.

can we restrict the size of attachment, I mean can we set any limit for the attachment size particular to knowledge article only?

Hi Mark,

Do you happen to know if the large attachment issue would still be considered a bad user experience issue would still apply in currently supported versions, when loading a similarly laden KB article? We have some unique KB usage with some articles that have unusually large file attachments that can cause a KB to take a few minutes to load. Depending on your response, I may suggest changing those attachments to href links to replace the docs.

Cheers,
