Learning#14: MID Server Cluster (ecc_agent_cluster) with type as "Failover" not working as expected

Hi All,

Issue: wherein we have created MID Server Cluster as "Failover" and added two MID Servers under that cluster. However the Cluster functionality was not working as expected which means if MID1 is down due to any issue then it should route all the traffic on MID2 as per functionality of Failover Mid Server Cluster.

Solution: In order to make sure that MID Server Cluster functionality works then you have to make sure that the below prerequisites are set.

  • MID server cluster does not support the domain separation so all  MID servers should be in the same domain.
  • All MID servers should have the same IP ranges.
  • All MID servers should have the same applications supported.
  • All MID Servers should have the same capabilities.

We have referred this article to fix our issue : MID Server cluster prerequisites - Support and Troubleshooting (servicenow.com)

Our Issue was the both the MID Server didnt have the exact same capabilities due to which it was not working.

Hope this helps.

Please mark this helpful as much as a possible.

Regards,

Shamma
