Hi Community,
I am new to the ServiceNow developer learning courses. I have noticed it seems like there are two places to study for the Developer Cert.
There is the ServiceNow Application Developer at this link: https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do#!/home
Then there is the Application Developer Career Journey at this link: https://nowlearning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/pages/journey-overview?id=journey_overview&journey_id=cbdb...
Is there a recommendation for either link? I've been a Software Engineer for an e-commerce building React/TypeScript applications. I like the ServiceNow SaaS and think I would enjoy building apps in this platform. Thanks in advance for advice.

Hi Jeremy,
This link (https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do#!/home) is for requesting your PDI (Personal Developer Instance).
You can find more details about it from here.
You can follow the path mentioned in below link to start your career with Servicenow.
Then there is the Application Developer Career Journey at this link: https://nowlearning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/pages/journey-overview?id=journey_overview&journey_id=cbdb...

Hi,
If you are going to attempt for the Certified Application Developer certification, then the courses in Nowlearning should your first choice.
The courses offered by the Developer site is more generic, in terms of learning various concepts, and gives good advice on the development process.
I started out my journey by going through all the material on the Developer site first (because it's free!), and I like that material for sure.
But again, if the aim is to take the cert, the material provided in the Nowlearning courses should be your first choice.

Welcome, Jeremy! Both platforms are valuable. The ServiceNow Developer Site offers hands-on labs, learning plans, and a dedicated “Application Developer” path — ideal for practicing in a PDI (Personal Developer Instance). The Now Learning Career Journey provides structured, role-based learning with progress tracking and certification prep. Since you're already a software engineer, start with the Developer Site to quickly get hands-on, then use Now Learning for deeper, guided certification prep. Using both together gives the most well-rounded experience. Good luck on your ServiceNow journey!
