mailto.approval - Email template

Hi All:

I am using Email template: mailto.approval in one of the approval notification. But when a user clicks on the link, an additional page is getting opened in the Chrome along with email window.

Page - mailto:instancename@service-now.com?subject=Re%3AXXX000XXX%20-%20approve&body=%0A%0ARef%3MSGXXXX%20

I have tested it in Firefox and safari where it works fine. Any suggestion.

Hello,

Has the user setup a default email client on his machine. This is required, so mailto can be redirect to be opened in the required email client.

Yes, an email client is already set up and working fine. The issue is the additional page which is happening only in chrome.

Please try this out once and hopefully it should work

  1. Open your Chrome web browser.
  2. Click the Chrome menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the window.

  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Show Advanced Settings at the bottom of the page. 
  5. Under "Privacy," click Content Settings.
  6. Scroll down to the "Handlers" section, and click the Manage Handlers button.
  7. Select your desired, default email client (e.g. Gmail).
