Make fields read only on the list view

When on the default list view, the following fields should be present:

Number

Opened

Short Description

Caller

Priority

State

Category

Assignment Group

Assigned To

Updated

Updated By   

All fields in the list view are read-only   OR   The following fields are editable by the ITIL role: Short Description, State, Category, Assignment Group, Assigned To

I want the short description , state, category, assignment group, assigned to field as editable. I tried this. But it is not working
