May I use contextual search in catalog item?

Hello,

May I use contextual search in catalog item? I knew contextual search can be used for fields in table(form), record producer and wizard. Is it possible to use contextual search for certain field (eg. short desc) in a catalog item?

I checked below wiki document. Seems it does only mentioned how to config contextual search in table(form), record producer and wizard. Any help will be much appreciated.

Shane--would you mind posting more detail about how you accomplished this in Madrid? I'm unsure how step #6 would look "Now create a new "Record Producer Configuration" record for your Catalog Item and make sure that it has some kind of text variable you can select as the "Search Variable" and you are all set."

Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure of what I did since it was a few months ago, but here's the magic from the update set. This could give you some clues:

Thank you! Two more months of experience and I'm back to this thread and with your screenshot I was able to accomplish this in Madrid. 🙂

Any chance of getting the steps to implement this in Madrid? This would be highly appreciated.

I only got this to work in a record producer, so I did it in my basic "break/fix" form to divert people to a different request form if applicable. This was a long 3 months ago so I don't remember exactly what I did but here are a few things I can recall.

I added this as a variable to the record producer:

Look up "Contextual Search" in the navigator and under Search Contexts make sure you have an Incident Deflection context with the things identified that you want it to search and you can add a new record producer there.

Hopefully that will get you a little further in your journey, but feel free to ask if you get stuck!
