Are the use of any MFA fob type devices supported by ServiceNow?

Hi @Andy Foster

ServiceNow supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using various types of devices, including hardware-based tokens such as security fobs.

ServiceNow integrates with various third-party MFA providers that support hardware tokens, such as RSA SecurID and Yubico. These providers can be configured to work with ServiceNow using the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) plugin, which allows you to set up and manage MFA for your instance.

With these providers, you can configure the MFA plugin to use hardware-based tokens, such as security fobs, to provide an additional layer of security for users when accessing ServiceNow.

When using hardware tokens, users will be prompted to enter a token code generated by their fob device when attempting to log in to ServiceNow. This code is unique to each user and changes every few seconds, providing an extra layer of security.

It is important to note that the specific steps to set up MFA with hardware tokens may vary depending on the provider and the specific type of hardware tokens used. You should consult the documentation and support resources provided by the MFA provider for more information on how to set up and configure hardware tokens.

ServiceNow supports FIDO2-compliant hardware security keys such as YubiKey for 2nd-factor authentication.
