Hi All,

Thanks in advance for your suggestions here.

I would like to use MRVS or similar tabular format to have edit/update functionality of multiple line items on work order form.

  • I have created a work order template which intern creates a catalog item
  • I have created a MRVS variable set in that catalog item
  • but I am unable to place this variable on respective work order

Please let me know if this is possible to apply MRVS on work order template otherwise any alternative similar solution to implement this.

Thanks,

Kartheek

@MadavapeddiK In ServiceNow, Multi-Row Variable Sets (MRVS) are primarily designed for Service Catalog Items and do not natively appear on standard forms like Work Orders (part of Field Service Management - FSM).

Possibly you can Use a Related List:

If your goal is to manage multiple line items on a Work Order, the best approach is to use a related list instead of MRVS.

  • Steps:
    1. Create a custom table (e.g., u_work_order_items) with fields matching your MRVS structure.
    2. Add a reference field (u_work_order) to link the table to the Work Order (fsm_work_order).
    3. Configure a related list on the Work Order form to display the multiple items.
    4. Users can add, edit, and remove records directly in the related list.

Thank you @sreeram_nair for your inputs. Yes, we have multiple options however would like to explore on MRVS as it seems simplified and OOB.

Thanks
