Hello Community friends,

I have been very active on my instance (dev13049.service-now.com), In fact I have made some configurations changes yesterday evening also. However, I am getting the following error when I attempted to login today. Can anyone help me with it?

This instance has been suspended due to inactivity... please sign-in to the developer portal to restart.

Hi Hari,

We have recently introduced suspending instances so that we can better utilize the resources set aside for the Developer Program to ensure that instances remain free and widely available.

We are working through tweaking the timeout settings and how long it will take before it hibernates. Expect changes in the coming weeks as we iterate on this.

You should be able to wake up your instance by signing into the Developer Site.

Please let me know if you run into issues doing this or if you have any additional questions or comments.

Thanks.
Jack

Hi Jack,

Regarding this: "We are working through tweaking the timeout settings and how long it will take before it hibernates. Expect changes in the coming weeks as we iterate on this." -- will this information be published or made known once it's finalized? It would be good to know rather than guessing as we attempt to manage our instances.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Gregory,

Sorry I missed your post.

We don't currently have a definitive timeline at this point for when those improvements will be made - we are still in the process of developing them and I don't want to set your expectations incorrectly.

I will provide more information once its available to me.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments.

Thanks.
Jack

Hi Jack, my instance dev13049 is hibernating even for smaller inactive windows, I faced this happening today for 51 mins of inactivity. Is this expected?

Hi Hari,

That is definitely not expected. Let me look into this and get back to you.

Thanks.
Jack
