My new option not appearing in drop down list

I am trying to add another option into the category choice list.
I have added the new option by right clicking against the category label and selecting configure label. I have added the new option and added it to the selected.
The new option appears in my choice list but still doesn't appear in my drop down list. I have done the same thing in the development environment and it works fine. Could this be something to do with our personal instance?

No I don't think there is limit in adding choice. Is it possible to paste some screen shots or did you check that option you are adding are not having much characters.

Isn't it Configure Choices, not configure Label?
If that's not the root cause, I'd look at sys_choice directly and see if I made the choice on the exact target table, and not say a parent table (like in the case of Task and Incident).

Sorry I meant Configure Choices. I have also checked that it is appearing on the choice table and not a parent table. Is it possible that there is a rule in our instance that limits the number of choices I can use for this field? I can add other options in other drop downs
