Need help on display the column?

Hello

I have a reference variable that links to a custom table that has these fields: Number, username, fax number. When i select the fax number, it only display the Number field. It doesn't display the fax number.

Hi @SnowDevOps ,

For a reference variable in your case, the display value of the custom table is set to Number. Even though the lookup list shows the Fax Number column, the value shown on the form is controlled only by the table’s Display field

Open the form, right click on Number field and:

• Ensure Display is unchecked / false

• Also verify if there is no Dictionary Override forcing it as the display field.

 

Now go back to form and right click the Fax Number field and:

• Go to Dictionary Configuration

• Check Display / true

Number is the display field in your table. You should probably use a lookup select, where you will be able to show the fax number along with other fields.

If number shouldn't be display, you should change it to fax number field.

A selected reference field value will only display one column.  You can change which column is displayed by setting the Display value to true in your table definition
