Hi Rog,
Set your variable set "Layout" to "2 columns Wide" - you can choose if you want them alternating or onside, then the other. You then need to add the variables that you want to alternate into two separate containers with defined ends (required if your item is viewed on Service Portal otherwise you can use a single container with a split). Should look something like the following:

You could create a new container start, (omit the title display), and set it to a 2-column container, alternating sides. Or a 2-column container, one side then the other. Then create a container end to wrap the checkboxes in their own container. Try out both configurations to see which best suits your current situation.
If I was able to answer your question, please mark it as correct. Thanks.

I have tried the same by making the layout as 2column wide and then introducing the container start and container end then container start and again container end for the variables.
They are appearing completely on the right side and in one column.

You want the container start variable's to have the column orientation decided, not the entire variable set. Try to make the column configurations on the container start variables.
