Hi Team,
I’ve installed the Guided Self Service plugin in my DEV instance. After activation, I’m unable to find it in the Application Navigator—typing “Guided Self Service” returns no results.
Interestingly, in my PDI, the same plugin shows up in the navigator right after installation and works as expected.
Please help me how can i fix it
Regard
Ankit

Hi Ankit,
This is usually not an installation issue. 😉
The Guided Self Service plugin does not always create a standalone Application Navigator module. In many instances especially non-PDI or newer releases, it’s basically surfaced through the Service Portal / Self-Service experience not directly as a navigator application.
A few things u can check:
Confirm the plugin is active
Go to System Definition → Plugins
Verify Guided Self Service is Active, not just installed
Check the Service Portal
Navigate to your Service Portal (e.g., /sp)
Guided Self Service typically appears as part of the portal flows, not the App Navigator
Roles
Make sure your user has the required roles (often itil, service_catalog_admin, or portal-related roles)
PDIs often have broader default roles, which can explain the difference
Release / instance differences
PDIs sometimes expose legacy or demo modules that don’t appear in standard DEV instances
This difference is normal and expected
End Summary:
If the plugin is active, there’s nothing to fix. Guided Self Service is accessed via the Service Portal not the Application Navigator and PDIs can behave differently due to demo configuration and roles.
Hope this helps clarify the difference. 🙂
