not supported calendar message.ics

Ok, so I'm trying to send out a meeting invitation from ServiceNow (currently Helsinki) and I've read the guides ( ServiceNow Calendar Invites ) and done all the parts as far as I know. When ServiceNow is sending me the calendar invitation the file name is "not supported calendar message.ics" and is only 16 byte small containing something like "Ref:MSG0194832"

I found this topic and looked through it How to configure Meeting Invitation to Outlook?   but even though I have done all things in that post I still get the same failing calendar invitation. I'm running out of ideas and was wondering if anyone here might have a clue on what the problem might be.

Some facts (with questions from other threads):

Running Outlook 2016

"In the user profile for the recipient check calendar integration. It should be Outlook."

"I'd recommend heading back to the sys_impex_map table and looking there. The new record you added into this table needs to be name icalendar.your_table_name . Also ensure that the fields you are referencing for dtstart and dtend are date/time fields. Not just date fields."

Let me know if you see anything obvious issues!

There is an email template named - change.calendar.integration - that comes out of the box. It's for sending change meeting invites when a change is scheduled. I would try using that template, instead of populating Message text field on notification. As well, you might review the out of box notification named: Notify Change Calendar

Hello Michael and thanks for your post!

I did take a look into the template you suggested and copied those fields into the Message text box on Fig 1. saved it and ran ut once again but with the same result. I don't think there has to be a template in order to send Meeting Invitations even though it's a good reference in this case.

I also took a look on the notification "Notify Change Calendar", but I think it looks pretty much the same. There must be something else I'm missing...?

To rule out if this is a SN problem, can you send a Change notification meeting invite? If you're not receiving that correctly, could it be mail app or something client side? I receive change meeting notifications every week without issues.

Hi Michael! I just wanted to give you feedback on the issue I was having.

Apparently ServiceNow demands that the meeting invitation has to be sent through a email template in order to not get the "not supported calendar message.ics" message.

Kind regards
