Now assist is not only for platform users but also for creators .
With Now assist for creators you can ask , the platform to create applications , catalog items and many things , with natural language , and without any technical or ServiceNow platform knowledge , as if by magic .
How to enable Now Assist for CMDB :
Go to the ServiceNow Store (https://store.servicenow.com/)
Click on Now Assist :
Click on Now Assist for creators .
And click on Get
After approval has been granted, go to All > System Applications > All Available Applications.
Select Now Assist for Creator and click on Install .
Please note that :
- You need Next Experience to be enabled ( if you started your SerivceNow journey with Tokyo release you have Next Experience automatically enabled ) .
- Unfortunately you cannot use Now Assist for creator in a personal development instance (PDI) , store apps cannot be installed in PDI .
How to use Now Assist for Creator ?
With Now Assist for Creator you can generate simplified apps , catalog items , codes , Performance Analytics artifacts , Flows , Playbooks and many more .
Let’s create a catalog item with Now Assist : Text2Catalog
First we need to make sure that the feature is active :
Open the Now Assist Admin console
Then select Creator
Check that Service Catalog is Active .
Catalog generation is integrated into Catalog Builder
Open the catalog builder
Click on Create a new catalog item :
Then Continue .
Select a template .
Now you can see the Now Assist Step :
Describe the details of the catalog item that you want to create :
Example :
Start with :
Create a Iphone 16 pro request form
Add questions :
It must include a drop down menu offering three storage options : 128 GB , 256 GB and 512 GB (with 128 GB as the default option) .
You can specify if the question is mandatory or optional :
Add mandatory field for ….
Add an optional field for …
Specify the exact name of reference tables :
Add mandatory field for location (these must be reference field from cmn_location table)
Click on Generate with Now Assist .
Verify your form and then Submit .
