OOB behavior of activity tab on portal

We have two tabs on the portal form when we sumit the item request:

  1. Activity

  2. Attachments

When we add an attachment using the Attachments tab, it works fine — the attachment is added, and we receive a message confirming that the attachment was successfully uploaded.

However, when we add an attachment through the Activity tab > attachment option (paperclip icon), the attachment gets added, but no success message is displayed.

I don't have knowledge of portal and widgets. We have to investigate OOB behavior.

Is there any OOTB script that controls this behavior? Why is the success message shown when adding via the Attachments tab but not via the Activity tab?

@Pratiksha KC

it's OOTB behavior, that additional comments is added only when you add file from Attachments and not from Activity tab.

If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.

Hi @Pratiksha KC

I believe this is expected behavior—when you add an attachment from the activity section, it might not display immediately. You should check the standard ticket configuration and make any necessary changes accordingly.

Hi @Dr Atul G- LNG

Can you explain me where I can find - standard ticket configuration ?

We have 'Standard Ticket Attachments' widget. Where the attachment is added from attachment tab, than it shows message also.

But not sure for Activity tab.

Thank You!

@Dr Atul G- LNG

Thank you for the reply.

Final answer: this behavior (not showing the message when uploading via Activity tab) is expected OOTB. Correct me if I'm wrong.
