Currently have a date field that our people would like to be presented in a specific format (yyyy-MM-dd) with validation on it, as we have many international users, and varying date formats have been causing issues on this specific item when people have their own date format preference set in their user profile. We would like to force this specific field into the noted date format, regardless of the users chosen date format, but I don't know if that's possible due to the way dates are displayed in the system. Does anyone have experience with this or know if it's possible?

Unfortunately, neither of these did anything to solve our issue. Tried multiple times to convert the format, with no luck. User's default date format overrode all changes.

Unfortunately, since this field is on a catalog item, we can't just remove the date field. Our main problem was that we needed some validation on dates in the system (ie no more than 90 days out, etc) and none of the methods we found were working. Just overriding the end users date format preference was a final attempt to fix the issue... however we found that we have a low percentage of users (VERY low) that actually set their own preference, so we are just better off removing the ability to set your own date format outright.
