I've searched and tried to reverse engineer for some time but I'm still looking for an API or some other reliable way to convert a sys_update_xml record into a GlideRecord or similar object (without reinventing the wheel. com.glide.update.UpdateSetCommitAjaxProcessor and ImportSetUtil.loadFromXML are closed code that probably do exactly that. Is there an API or something that I could use? Has anyone implemented this? Ideally, I could use OOTB code or at least find the OOTB algorithm to copy.
I've asked support, which, so far, has been unhelpful.
