Hello
We had a situation in which we have a "Partially committed" Update set.
Looks like Update set was committed successfully and some action was in progress - WHICH WE CANCELLED on Tasks records which were around 9 lacs records. Basically We created new field on the task level.
Now I am not sure How to deal with this one as State is Partially committed and I can't see the Commit Update set button again.
Please advise on this one.
Regards

Hello Nikita,
if you backout your update set then all the customization that you had captured in that update set will out and customization will no longer available on your instance.
Either you can back out committed update set and import update set xml again and follow the process of committing update set by previewing it.
OR
What you can do is simply Import Update set xml into instance and follow the process
Preview -> Commit

Hi Abhishek
Thank you for your response.
I would prefer to go with the second option.
But I have a query here, In this case what will happen if half of the updates are already updated and half are not.

In wont affect at all. it will update the existing(half committed) records if update set contains any new changes in these records and those records which is not committed, will be committed.
You will get a "this record has a more recent update" error for all the items that went through with the first update set, You can either ignore these, or accept them all. It shouldn't make any difference since it's the same update you're applying.

Hello Nikita,
An Update Set is a group of configuration changes that can be moved from one instance to another instance.
While moving the update set, if you want to commit(canceling the action of the update set i.e.changes won't longer exist) then you can just cancel the update set while moving the update set is in progress.
If you want to cancel(Commit) the update set then you can click on the Commit update Set Button.
You can go through the link which will help you to understand properly.
hope this helps!
Mark as correct and helpful if it helps you in any way.
