PDI dev434565 Offline and Returning 502 Bad Gateway (snow_adc) - Any Recovery Options?

Hi Team,

I am facing an issue with my Personal Developer Instance (dev434565).

The instance is showing Offline in the Developer Portal, and when I try to access it, I receive a 502 Bad Gateway (snow_adc) error or  Bad Request
This combination of host and port requires TLS.
And the portal also displayed:

"We're having trouble opening your instance due to an internal error."

The instance contains important development work and Update Sets that have not yet been exported or backed up. I last accessed the instance about 6 days ago.

Before considering a rebuild or release of the PDI, I would like to know:

  • Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
  • Is there any way to recover or restore the existing PDI?
  • Can ServiceNow Developer Support help recover the instance and its Update Sets?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @21121A1597

If PDI got offline for 502 Bad Gateway (snow_adc) error , then either you have to

1. Keep Refreshing:  Instances often go offline temporarily due to automatic background maintenance . If you keep refreshing from Developer portal , once maintenance is over , it will come online.

(For your case - you have tried it for 6 days)

Other option:

2. Release instance and request for new one : If the error persists for more than 1/2 days, your underlying node may be permanently stuck.

You can release the instance and claim a new one from the ServiceNow Developer Portal, though you will lose your current data.

There is no support available for PDI

Hello @21121A1597 ,

Don’t worry, buddy. This has been happening with multiple users these days. My instance also went offline after some time, but it came back online on its own.

You just need to wait for some time and then try logging in again. In rare cases, the instance may not come back online. If it still doesn’t come back after waiting for a while, you can release the instance and request a new one.

If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution.

Regards,

Aditya

Hi @21121A1597

Current status:

  • Developer Site: Available
  • New PDI provisioning: Paused
  • PDI reclaim and wake actions: Paused
  • Existing PDIs: Some remain offline
  • User action required: None at this time

ServiceNow does not expect any data loss. Affected PDIs are currently hibernating, and the data stored on them is expected to remain available once the instances are restored.

If your PDI is offline, you will need to wait until it becomes available again before accessing your data. No action is currently required.

ServiceNow is continuing to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
