Hello,
These ranks you see are something new which ServiceNow has introduced along with their newly designed portal.
Earlier too ranking were there but it was different from how it is today
For the ranking levels you can see the below article:-

Now the advantage based on rankings you may become a Community Rising star or MVP.
Now if you want to understand what is a MVP check the below article:-(The point system mentioned in this is old and the new point system is roughly mentioned in the above article)
From benefit point of view it helps to build a a name for yourself in ServiceNow community. You can also use it while looking for jobs etc.
