Is there a way to stop updating the printers short description during discovery?
Discovery dumps all the data in the short description (see below)
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance,
G

Thanks @AndersBGS
We ended up using the business rule on the printer's table to achieve it.
The only other solution was to edit the OOB script include "DiscoverySensor" & a sensor script "SNMP - Classify"
Thank you for assistance 🙂

Hi @GB14 ,
Have you looked into the pattern which is properly updating the short description.

Thanks for your reply. I believe the printers discovery uses probes and sensors vs patterns.
How do we use patterns for printers discovery?

Hi @GB14 ,
Can you see from the discovery what that has been configured to update the field? Have you look in the ECC queue and the log for the specific discovery?
