Purpose of "first reported by" field in Problem management

Hi all.. Can anyone help me in knowing the meaning of the field 'first reported by' in problem management?

First reported by field is basically reference to task table which is used to capture the source task where the first time the issue was encountered and for which the Problem ticket will be doing the RCA and find root cause.
