Hello Community,
Question - can I set up read-only UI Policy (always true) on a dot-walked field ? I could locate the dot-walked field while creating the UI Policy Action.
Details: The field was added on a Change Request table from a custom table. So should I set up the UI Policy based off that custom table?
Thanks,
Hari

Yes, you can definitely do that providing the dot walked field is being displayed on the current form, and it is highly recommended because it prevents users inadvertently changing information on the referenced table.
That said, if the field is not available on the current form and you are simply trying to prevent a user from modifying a field on the referenced table... then no a UI Policy will not work. You will need to create a UI policy on that table or perhaps a better solution would be to consider creating an ACL.
If you need further assistance or clarification don't be afraid to ask; please don't forget to mark this helpful and/or answered if either or both.
