Reference field characters Search related

Hi,

     I was working on reference field where I need to search results only If I entered more than 3 characters.

But In my case results are getting fetched If Iam going to enter the first character.

If I enter the first character then search should not be enabled.

For the reference I have attached the screenshot for the existing thing which I have implemented.

In the above screenshot search results should be enabled only If I enter B2C.(That is 3 char)

Can anyone suggests the remedy for the above scenario?

It looks like you can change a lot for reference field auto complete, but not the minimum characters:
