Hi,
If suppose there is a asset field in case form and it is a reference field. Table is alm_asset. It has different attributes but the display name of the asset is displayed on the case form. Now I want someother attribute of the asset table to be displayed in the case form. How do I figure this out?
TIA

Hello @Nandhinisri
Did you refer the reply I shared ? You can use Lookup Type and select serial number.

Hello @Nandhinisri
You are doing this for portal , so this is a catalog form I am assuming. Then it is a variable and the variable type is Lookup Select Box.
This works and actually this is the only way in catalog form without changing the display value.

Hello @Nandhinisri
You can use Lookup Table type of record in portal. In that you can select the exact attribute that you want to be displayed for the record.
But definitely you cannot dot walk using this because it will not be a reference field (if you selected such).

the below is not possible without updating the dictionary entry with Display=true for Serial number
Remember it will be platform change.
Why not create a custom field and store the asset serial number based on change of asset reference field?
OR
why not bring the serial number on the current form from dot walking the Asset field
If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.
