Reference icon field not visible

Hello,

The refrence icon is not visible for the assignment group field which is reference field. In the same form, for other reference fields, the icon is visible. The screenshot is attached.

The same form, when we view by impersonating another end user, the reference icon is visible for assignment group.

I have read that there is a known error that the reference icon is not visible. Is the above behavior also because of that? Is there any workaround for the known error?

Can someone help me with this?

Reeba

So you got the answer here only people who have this operational leader and ITIL role can have write access for that field as per the screen shot other than that normal users can't write on that fields and can't see those fields if they don't have read access  for that fields . so if you want to read or write in that form you need read access and write access  for that fields as per screen shot you defined users having ITIL and operational leader can write or edit those fields . let me know if any thing unclear . if you want people edit that fields first gave them read access for that fields and after that write access as per roles you defined in screen shoot.

Thanks,

Pavan

Hi Pavan,

Thankyou for your reply. I have just one more doubt.

How is it that the user without roles is able to see the the reference icon in other reference fields on the same form like opened by and portfolio and cannot see the reference icon on the reference field assignmnet group  when the ACL is change_request.* which means all fields on the table ?

I have attached the screenshot for reference. In it the portfolio field and the assignment group field both have read access true and write access false, but for portfolio reference field the reference icon is visible but for assignment group the reference icon is not visible.

See if you have acls for any fields on tables whether it’s write or read or create and these acls are defined by roles then those users only can access those fields you can see that in your above question mark my answer as correct and helpful if my answer was helpful for you thank you pavan
