Refernce qualifier on Lookup select box

HI community,

I have record producer with two variables. Leave type and Leave type detail. Both of them are look up select box type.

 When I choose value from Leave type I want that reference qualifier will filter leave type detail options according the Leave type value.  but when I paste into reference qualifier current.variables.leave_type i got nothing.

Do you have any idea why I got no value in current.variables.leave_type ? Thank you for help

I found a solution. The problem was that on a leave_type variable I have Look up value field as SYS_ID.  In the backend this field is a choice type field. So I changed the SYS_IS value to backend name of the field which is u_leave_category.  Then in my leave_type_detail variable I can receive value from current.variables.toString();

Hi there @Martines

current.variables.leave_type  won’t work directly in the reference qualifier because the variable value is on the client side while the qualifier is evaluated server side.

Try using a catalog client-callable Script Include + AJAX, or use an advanced reference qualifier that receives the variable value through the appropriate variable context.

@Martines

please share screenshot of your 2nd variable reference qualifier config how it's applied

how is the 2nd variable's reference table record linked with 1st one?

And I'm using script includes to build a query for reference qualifier.

the u_leave_of_absence table has fields u_leave_category and u_leave_subcategory.

@Martines

did you add log and see if value is coming in script include function?
