Related List Roll-up

Hello.  I am trying to figure out how roll-ups on Related Lists work.

In one of the attached screenshots I am looking at PRJ0033347.

PRJTASK0168353 has a Parent of PRJ0033347 so PRJTASK0168353 shows in the Project Tasks Related List

PRJTASK0290726 has a Parent of PRJTASK0168353 so in the Project Tasks Related List you can expand PRJTASK0168353 to see PRJTASK0290726

In the other attached screenshot I am looking at DMND0001886

DREQ0002203 has a Parent of DMND0001886 so it shows on the Requirements Related List

DREQ0002201 has a Parent of DREQ0002203 but it does not show an option to expand DREQ0002203.

For what it's worth - It's blacked out on the screenshots but on the Project Tasks related list the criteria shows as Parent = PRJ0033347 whereas on the Requirements related list it shows as Parent = [Short Description text]

How can I configure that Requirements Related List to behave the same way as the Project Tasks Related List when it comes to expanding and viewing Parent/Child records?

Hi @Tom Lapkowicz,

I can see two scenarios that might help you:

  • Go to the record where is the Related List and click the three bars icon > Configure > Related List:

Perhaps you will find exactly what you look for (try to check different Views).

  • Or go directly to the related list (from your screenshots), click right mouse button > Configure > List Layout:
    • by clicking on green fields (references) you can select any other field to be in the list

Please let me know whether this was somewhat helpful or if you want to achieve something else, just don't let my efforts be for nothing :))

That looks like "Hierarchical List" = true on the List Control for that related list.

Go to the related list, right click in the header, configure -> List Control.
Checkbox should be on the List Control form.
