Request to Update Email Address for ServiceNow Notifications

Hi Team,

We have received a request from a user regarding the email account configured for ServiceNow notifications in the production instance.

Currently, notifications are sent from an email address like ClientName@Service-now.com, which follows ServiceNow's out-of-the-box (OOB) configuration. However, the user would like to change this to reflect their company domain, such as ClientName@Client.com.

Could you please advise on the best practices for implementing this change in ServiceNow? Specifically, we are looking for guidance on:

  • Whether this change is feasible within ServiceNow's standard configuration.
  • Any potential impact or considerations (e.g., SMTP setup, email branding, deliverability).
  • Recommended approach to ensure compliance with ServiceNow standards and maintain system integrity.
