As a final-year BTech student with certifications in Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD), I would like to know what additional steps I should take to further develop my expertise and secure a job in the ServiceNow ecosystem. Specifically, what advanced skills or knowledge should I acquire, how can I gain practical experience, and what job roles should I target within the ServiceNow stream? Additionally, could you advise on effective job search strategies, networking opportunities, and any further certifications or resources that would help me advance my career in this domain?

Hi @21eg105h39
As a final-year BTech student with certifications in Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD),
Atul: Congrats mate for doing both certs. It will be a good addition to your CV and upcoming placements.
I would like to know what additional steps I should take to further develop my expertise and secure a job in the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Atul: To secure a job, now get the hands-on. What you can do, is start answering the questions of the community, which will give you direction that what you learn from certs is helping or not. Community posts will give you real-time scenarios and open many doors for you to learn as well.
Specifically, what advanced skills or knowledge should I acquire, how can I gain practical experience, and what job roles should I target within the ServiceNow stream?
Atul: You can pick up ITSM as the first product.
Additionally, could you advise on effective job search strategies, networking opportunities, and any further certifications or resources that would help me advance my career in this domain?
Atul: The strategy is to build a portfolio and skill set. Certs did not guarantee that you would get a job, so now spend time on hands, not on certs.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hi @21eg105h39 ,
First of congratulation for clearing your CSA and CAD. Holding both certificate state your resume that you have good knowledge on ServiceNow fundamental along with developer.
For next step.
To enhance your expertise and secure a job in the ServiceNow ecosystem, focus on obtaining advanced certifications like CIS in ITSM, HRSD, or CSM. Gain practical experience by building applications or workflows in a personal developer instance, contributing to open-source ServiceNow projects, or freelancing. Target roles such as ServiceNow Developer, System Administrator, or Junior Consultant. Network through LinkedIn, ServiceNow Community, and local meetups. Leverage job portals and internships for opportunities. Stay updated via ServiceNow’s Learning Portal, webinars, and blogs. Develop soft skills like communication and problem-solving to excel in techno-functional roles and showcase your ServiceNow expertise effectively.

If you found my response helpful, please consider selecting "Accept as Solution" and marking it as "Helpful." This not only supports me but also benefits the community.

The only skill that matters: Building stuff in ServiceNow.
What stuff? All the stuff covered in the CSA and CAD material.
Most people look at this as "what courses/badges/certs do I need"
The market doesn't want that. The market wants profound CAPABILITY.
So the thing you need most right now is to build, build, build, build, and build.
Imagine you are a general construction contractor. Your customers don't care about your talk about hammers and power tools. What they want to see is samples of what you've built. They want to know that you can convert their desire into the reality and they dont' want to be bogged down in the tool and material nuances. Because if they knew the tool and material nuance, they wouldn't NEED YOU.
Its time for you to start building a portfolio.
