REST API Table: GET data by 'sys_id' only, i.e. without table 'name'?

Curious

Using REST API for Table, its URL sub-directory path requires two parameters:

• table_name
• sys_id, table_name unique record identifier.

Since sys_id is unique for all records regardless of which table,

is it possible to GET record using REST API Table using 'sys_id' and without table_name?

That won't be possible I beleive. There's simply no API available for such.
