I ran into this discussion and I thought I would add a few comments that might help complete the last comments by Sherin and Taryn. Usually the first step for an organization who wants to use RFID to update assets is to use mobile RFID readers. This can be a simple first step; all you need is a mobile RFID reader and RFID tags on your assets. A next step can be to use fixed RFID readers at doorways throughout your facilities. Fixed readers are a more complex implementation than simply using mobile RFID readers to update assets. The data from these fixed RFID readers can be sent to ServiceNow with a couple of different approaches. A common approach is to have a fixed reader manager app (has a database with the application) that collects the data from the fixed readers, consolidates the data, and validates as desired before sending the data on to ServiceNow. You could also send the data directly to ServiceNow without a reader manager server in between. If you would like to review options, please reach out to me.
