Rich Text Editor on description and additional comments fields

Hi All,

I've had a few requests to introduce Rich Text Editor, HTML on the Description, Work notes, and additional comments fields for Incident, Stories, and Requests (RITM and SCTASKs).

I'm here to get some input, and determine if there's a right or wrong answer for this! 😉

Are there security issues in doing so?

Are there other reasons why we wouldn't want to introduce this feature?

Are there instances where some have successfully used Rich Text Editor on select fields?

Curious to know what precautionary steps have been made to enable Rich Text, or what others have seen out there.

Thanks!

You can use <code><div style="color:red">TEXT HERE</div></code> in the journal (work notes & comments). For description field you might stumble on some issues (especially if you just change the field type to HTLM insted of string). You need to use new field of type HTML and change this all over the system - in other words everything derived from task table. This will cause some unexpected and unforseen issues so my advice is - dont do it for description field. If that is so much needed, better add one more field there, like Extended description (or whatever) , type HTML, but dont change the original descrition field.
