I'm creating a new form for a custom application in Studio and while adding fields in Form Designer came across a problem I can't seem to get around. When I add a couple of previously defined fields and try to save, the progress bar pops up, turns red, then freezes. Once I close the dialog (changes not saved) the Save button is useless. It's not disabled but clicking it does nothing. The only way to move ahead is to close and re-open the Form (it does tell me that I will lose my changes). But when I try to add the fields again, it fails again. I am able to add some other fields, so it could be that those particular fields have issues.

You can use Form Layout instead of form designer to create new fields.

I have about 20 fields that work fine, it appears to be just 2 that don't work. Is there anything specific that would cause Form Designer to fail like that?

There is a known issue with fields defined as a Choice List with a large number of choices.
PRB745485 - Form designer does not save properly when a choice list with a large amount of sys_choice records is on the form.
This PRB is closed with no fix currently. Does that align with your problematic fields?

Not exactly. One choice list has 2 choices; the other has 5, although the form itself does have about 10 total
