Save fails in Form Design

I'm creating a new form for a custom application in Studio and while adding fields in Form Designer came across a problem I can't seem to get around. When I add a couple of previously defined fields and try to save, the progress bar pops up, turns red, then freezes. Once I close the dialog (changes not saved) the Save button is useless. It's not disabled but clicking it does nothing. The only way to move ahead is to close and re-open the Form (it does tell me that I will lose my changes). But when I try to add the fields again, it fails again. I am able to add some other fields, so it could be that those particular fields have issues.

New development. I deleted all of the existing fields from that section of the form and saved it. I was then able to add the 2 problem fields to the form and save it. Is there a limit on the number of fields that can be in a section or some other strange limitation?
