SCCM Integration Mapping question

Hello,

We are setting up an SCCM configuration and we have pulled our data into Service-Now via the Mid server. We are in the process of testing the process and one of the issues we have is we would like to have is the mapping from SCCM to Service-Now CMDB.

SCCM Resource ID maps to Correlation ID in Service-now CMDB. It is also the field that is used to match records between Service-now and SCCM. The problem is that a new Resource ID is created every time a device is added to SCCM. We would like records to match on the Serial number field.

Can we get Service-now to match on the serial number field? Is this controlled though a transformation?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Sakshi to add to that, checking out the subject, I noticed for the latest SCCM 2012 plugin, we actually deliver 3 import transform maps :

full, incremental and incremental (sam enabled).

if I read this well, you can do a first full import and afterwards enable the incremental one… should save you some time.

try it, let us know if that could work for you, or maybe if it already did

Hey,

I am not aware of a field for software usage, but I am not very familiar with SCCM. I think if software gets pulled from SCCM that indicates it is being used.

Sorry, I may not be much help on this one!

Thanks!

Mark,

Are you doing SW asset management with the SW data that comes in from the integration?   I have seen many customers just bring in everything that the SCCM plugin is able to bring in.   My suggestion is that people turn off the SW import until they have a plan to manage the data (SAM).   Otherwise, it is a major data load that can clutter your SW install tables that adds very little benefit.

Once you plan on doing SAM (sw compliance , etc), then begin the import of the data at that time.

I'd second Jacob's take here. An SCCM hardware feed typically holds 3-20K records (or more). That imports and transforms relatively quickly, usually under 30 minutes. The SW import is going to have half a million records or more. The entire process can take 6-7 hours to over a day.

Hi Guys,

We are facing same issue. Since, the table names and structure has been changed, I am not able to understand the solution. Can you please help me with the solution of this problem.

In our environment, we have moved SCCM from one server to another and all the resource id have been changed now.

@rgarland : Please let me know your solution. Also, you can mail me at rajat.jain@hiresumo.com
