Scheduled Job from Template with Dynamic Values

Hello,

 

My company prefers to create Service Catalog Tasks through Scheduled Jobs using the System Templates for ease of use in configuring task fields.  This, however, creates additional overhead when the need arises to add dynamic or scripted field values such as a due date.  I could always script the entire record creation to solve this, but then I come into conflict with the company's preference.  Before I result to a Business Rule to add the due date to the created SC Task, am I overlooking a more simplified way of using a template and supporting a dynamic field value?
