Self-service credential creation/replacing

Anyone out here allowing end-users to create/update credentials via record producer for example? It's one part of admin work that seems to stick to admins, if there was a secure and granular way of delegating that it would be great.

As far as I know, password need to be done by user him/herself. Many clients are using SSO so in this case it wokr from org level but if a user has standalone access then he/she can use reset my password at login screen which lead to password reset and it s OOTB available. Adding a RP will be more work and you need to make it kind of public as well.
