Send Test Email Button: Is there any out there?

Hello All.

I have been performing a lot of email notification upgrading for proper look, feel and presentation on many email display devices (phone, computer, different programs). I have just over 130 different email notifications that I am going through. I would like to be able to send a test email (same as when you add a new printer to your computer, select Print Test Page) of the notification I am working on without having to create any INC/CHG/PRB in the system. I already know the email trail works and only want to see the changes made and how it displays.

Is this something that others have come across or have heard of?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding this issue I have been in contact with many Service-Now experts and have received excellent information and guidance.

Service-Now does not allow email notifications to be forced sent from the email notification page. The final discussion with Robert Fedoruk was very illuminating, although disappointing, as I really wanted to create this ability in my Instance. Suffice it to say, if you are dealing with many email notifications, and you need to send them out, be prepared to create many firing events.

Hi Marshall,

Not sure which release you are on and not sure when this feature came. But if you look at your notification record, there might be a button called "Preview notification" in the upper right. Pressing that will give you a preview like this how it looks. This is from Helsinki release.

I looked and it seems this arrived in Geneva. I looked at a fuji instance and it didn't have it and according to docs, it should be in Geneva.

Thank you for responding. I am in Helsinki and, yes, I know of the Preview button. But this Preview is within the System and it will display properly every time. My desire is to have a "Send Test Email" button that would send the email from the notification page to an email recipient where it could be seen on many different applications. I want to test the rendering of the email on Outlook, gMail, Firefox, Thunderbird, iPhone, etc., on large screens and small cell phone screens. Helsinki supports the filling out of information in the email from prior information in the system.

Having so many notifications to send after changes are made creates a lot of extra work to create the requirements to fire those emails in the system.

Does this clarify my question?

Go to email properties and Configure your email id in below image marked yellow. So that you will receive email for given email id.
