serial number field in reporting not showing up without quantity

I am trying to create a report on 'Asset Covered' table combining asset and its related CI info. Without adding asset.quantity, serial number columns does not show any serial number. However I do not want to show quantity in the report. I know there is an ACL on quantity which basically says if the quantity is less than 1, do not show serial, however in our case quantity is 1 and it does not show any serial number when quantity field is not added as a column. Thanks. I will discuss with my admin to open a HI ticket. In the mean time I will try using database views to create similar report connecting contract, asset and related CI and model, and see if it causes any issues. Thanks again for your input.
