Hi @SreevidyaArram ,
Its very common to see Servicenow PDIs being inconsistent and not being available for use when Needed ! Here is something which you can follow to Fix / Overcome it...
Problem Statement : [ Facing one of these issues ?]
- PDI is Offline
- PDI under maintenance mode.
- Not Available due to unexpected maintenance Work.
- Sorry, an error occurred or this page isn't available.
- The instance is offline. Please check again in a few minutes.
- Failing to backup/restore.
- All other Issues.... etc...
How can you Fix Yourself ?
[Servicenow do not support directly to fix your PDI, Its a DIY...]
- You can Refresh your instace.
- You can Wipe and Reset your instance [Risk of data loss]
- You can release the instace and create a new PDI.
- You can upgrade your instance.
- When none of the above work > Create a new PDI
How to Avoid this ?
- Frequently Backup your instance Before EOD / Before session logout.
- Login in Regularly once in a day atleast.
- Keep an eye on community news for any PDI migration / Planed activity.
- Never depend on PDI for your productive work Always use PDI for usecase testing or reference only.

Ranjit

Hi @SreevidyaArram ,
as you might know, there is no support available from ServiceNow in relation to PDIs, hence you’re limited to two options:
- wait, it should come online again after some time.
- If you get tired of waiting. Release your instance and request a fresh installation. Note! Any work that hasn’t been backed up will be list for good.
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards

I've been using PDI without any issues since this morning, but I've noticed several posts in the community about PDI being offline. Here are some points to consider:
- There is no support available for PDI.
- If you can wait, let's wait a bit longer.
- You can release this instance and start a new one, but you will lose your previous data. To avoid losing update sets in the future, make sure to take regular backups of your PDI.
There have been 3-4 posts in the community today about PDI failures or unavailability. Based on the responses, you might need to wait 1-2 days and hopefully, the PDI will be back online.
Backup and restore you PDI data using GITHUB
FYI, earlier Backup and restore feature was available for PDI's which is disccontinued since 15 DEC 2022
Link to that Post- https://developer.
However, there is a way to Backup your PDI Data using GITHUB
Please go through this URL for detailed explanation - https://developer.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

@SreevidyaArram I feel sorry for you, but this can happen from time to time with your PDI.
Best practice is to back up your work on a regular basis towards a repository like github. Please refer to this article: How to backup your Personal Developer Instance (PDI)
Cheers and have a great weekend!
