Hi @HaoL ,

  • Leaf Domains: In ServiceNow, a leaf domain refers to the lowest-level domains in your domain hierarchy. These are the domains where individual service configurations, such as servers, applications, or services, are typically defined.
  • Non-Leaf Domains: A non-leaf domain is a higher-level domain that contains child domains. These are more organizational or group-based domains, not typically where individual services reside.

Service Mapping in ServiceNow is intended to work with leaf domains because it identifies and maps the relationships between IT services and the underlying infrastructure components (like servers, applications, databases). Non-leaf domains are more like containers or categories for grouping related services, and Service Mapping does not support mapping at that level.

Accept and like the solution if it helped you.

Thanks Runjay for the information ,actually i know the reason why it happened .But question was how i can resolve the issue. My credential shows my current domain was the global .

Hi @HaoL ,

  1. Ensure that Service Mapping is implemented at the leaf domain level, where no child domains exist.
  2. If possible, implement Service Mapping in the global domain (or a single dedicated domain) to avoid the complexities of domain separation altogether.
