A prior developer removed the catalog item names and short descriptions from the service portal because they had icons that included that text.
I would like to revert back to standard icons that are a picture only and bring back the service portal rendering of the item names and descriptions. I have no idea where to start to figure out how they managed to hide this text on the service portal.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Todd,
Would you be able to share the screenshot of what page / widget the change was made in?
I assume it is the 'sc_category' page where you could see the list of all catalog items present within a category. If yes, you will need to check that portal page using page designer / page editor, to find out the widget you are using as it would be customized if you had hidden the title. The out of the box widget is called 'SC Category Page'. If you want those texts back, you could just revert back to the OOB widget.
You can replace the customized widget with the OOB widget, and it will fix your problem.
But yeah, it is all based on assumption that the widget was customized to remove the title, if it was a CSS hack, the solution would be different.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Manish

Thank you, Manish. That was it - once I reverted back to the OOB widget it is now rendering properly.
